Although very popular with locals, it is not usually overcrowded as it is off the tourist track. It is located near the village of Panormos, offering great view of the Aegean Sea and the opposite islet of Agia Kyriaki.<\/p>\n What sets off Platis Gialos from other beaches on Kalymnos is its coast which is covered with dark sand and pebbles, a reminder that this part of the Aegean is still volcanic. The water is blue and incredibly clean. It has an interesting seabed, ideal for snorkeling.
