The location
PLATYS GIALOS
Platis Gialos is a wide beach on the west side of Kalymnos. Although very popular with locals, it is not usually overcrowded as it is off the tourist track. It is located near the village of Panormos, offering great view of the Aegean Sea and the opposite islet of Agia Kyriaki.
What sets off Platis Gialos from other beaches on Kalymnos is its coast which is covered with dark sand and pebbles, a reminder that this part of the Aegean is still volcanic. The water is blue and incredibly clean. It has an interesting seabed, ideal for snorkeling. On the beach there are some rocks from where the most daring can dive.
Platis Gialos is also known for the amazing sunsets that one can enjoy from the coast.

I had a wonderful stay at Mouselis Apartments. Apartment 4 was cozy and had everything I needed for a comfortable vacation. The private balcony offered incredible sea views, and it was the perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee.
